"The local school board is a critical public link to public schools.  Whether elected or appointed, school board members serve their communities in several important ways.  First and foremost, school boards look out for students. Education is not a line item on the school board's agenda - it is the only item."

We are at an exciting and critical time in this district.  In 2013, our community stepped up and approved a renewal of the existing levy, as well as extra funds to boost security in our buildings and a combination of anti-bullying and mental health support efforts (as taken from  We are now in the midst of a massive new phase at Stillwater Area High School, with the transition to a grade 9-12 model.

I believe that we are on the precipice of greatness.  Voters in this district have shown their support through the recent levy votes and the bond referendum.  I believe we need to honor this support with a board that will address issues collectively, on a macro level, with financial accountability and the best interests of every student at the forefront of their decision making.  That philosophy is what I will bring to the table.  As a mother of three kids currently in District 834 public schools, our family lives with the decisions of the board each and every day.  I will always make my decisions with not only your children in mind, but the taxpayers without children who have supported us as well:  single voters, empty nesters, grandparents, young couples who have yet to start their family, and all residents.

My family settled in this district and we have been happy with this decision ever since.  We plan to live here in retirement, and we hope our children come back and raise their kids here, as well.  I vow to be an approachable board member with an open mind who will always consider what is best for students and our community. I hope to earn your vote this November. ~
